神戸には、神戸高速鉄道と神戸市営地下鉄の、二つの地下鉄があります。神戸高速は、阪急・阪神・山陽・神鉄の延長的な色合いが強いです。神戸市営地下鉄は独立した地下路線ですが、路線の半分は、神戸市北西のニュータウンと神戸市中心部を結ぶ郊外鉄道です。
Kobe has two different underground rail systems: Kobe Rapid Transit Railway and the Kobe Municipal Subway. The former connects interurban private railways such as Hankyu, Hanshin, Sanyo, and Shintetsu, while the latter is a self-contained municipal subway network.
