5000系は海岸線用に設計されました。2本のレール間にあるリアクションプレートと作用するリニアモーター方式を備えています。低い床と小さな車体によって建設費を抑えられます。三宮・元町・ハーバーランドなどの都心部を走るものの、利用者数は予想の半分です。
Series 5000 is designed for Kaigan Line. It has linear motor system, which interacts with reaction plate between the two rails. Low floor hight and small body make it possoble to reduce the construction cost. Although the Line runs downtowns like Sannomiya, Motomachi and Harbor land, number of passengers are half of the expectation.
