1992年式車両は、ABBがダービーで製造し、1990年代にセントラル線とウォータールー＆シティー線へ導入した電車です。2両を基本単位として、それぞれ8両・4両の編成を構成し、広い外吊り式の扉と大きな側窓を採用しました。新製時の駆動装置は直流電動機を使うサイリスタ・チョッパ制御で、交流VVVFではなく、セントラル線では自動運転に対応しましたが、後年の更新では交流駆動への変更も行われています。
The 1992 trains were built by ABB at Derby for the Central and Waterloo & City Lines during the 1990s. Two-car units formed eight-car and four-car trains respectively, with wide externally hung doors and unusually large side windows. As built, they used thyristor-chopper control with DC motors, not AC VVVF traction; Central Line trains supported automatic operation, and a later refurbishment programme began converting that fleet to AC drive.
