スウェーデン国鉄(SJ)は上下分離方式の民営分割化が行われ、名前は同じながら株式会社になりました。新生SJは車両・駅設備を中心に積極的な投資を行い、一定の成果を上げているようです。一方で線路設備面の問題により、遅延を克服するまでには至っていないようです。ストックホルム近郊電車は早くからSLに運営分離されていましたが、近年その他の地域交通も地域会社に運営分離され、車両に様々な塗色のバリエーションが生まれています。
Swedish State Railways (SJ) underwent division and privatisation using a system that separates infrastructure from operation, and became a limited company while retaining its name. The new SJ is investing actively, particularly in trains and station facilities, and appears to be achieving some results. On the other hand, infrastructure problems seem to prevent it from overcoming delays. Stockholm commuter trains were separated into SL's operation early on, and more recently other regional services have also been separated into regional companies, producing many different train liveries.
