DBの479.2形は、オーバーヴァイスバッハ登山鉄道の山上区間で使われる小型電車です。写真の479 203は1984年製で、旧DR時代には279.2形と呼ばれました。ベルリンSバーン更新車と共通の車体部品やゴータ製路面電車の電気機器を取り入れ、直流600 Vの架線から集電します。
DB Class 479.2 comprises small electric railcars for the plateau section of the Oberweißbacher Bergbahn. The photographed 479 203 was built in 1984 and originally belonged to DR Class 279.2. Its construction incorporated body components shared with rebuilt Berlin S-Bahn cars and electrical equipment from Gotha trams; it draws power from a 600 V DC overhead supply.
