南武線と武蔵野線では、ステンレス車体の205系がそれぞれ1989年、1991年から使われました。南武線は6両、武蔵野線は8両編成で、同じ系列でも路線ごとに編成や帯色が異なっていました。
Stainless-steel Series 205 trains entered service on the Nambu Line in 1989 and the Musashino Line in 1991. The former used six-car sets and the latter eight-car sets, with formations and colour schemes varying between the routes.
