207系900番台は、初のインバータ制御車として1986年に国鉄が開発しました。車体は205系に似ていますが、前面扉があります。インバータは三菱、東洋、日立の3社が製造しました。製造されたのは10両だけで、2009年に引退しました。
Series 207-900 was developed by JNR in 1986 as the first inverter-controlled vehicle. The body is similar to EMU 205, but with a front door. The inverter was manufactured by three companies: Mitsubishi, Toyo, and Hitachi. Only 10 cars were built, and they were withdrawn in 2009.
