E4系はE1系に続く2階建て新幹線です。1編成は8両で、別のE4系編成や、E3系の特急「つばさ」「こまち」と連結されます。最高速度が240 km/hのため、東北新幹線から上越新幹線へ移る予定です。
EMU Series E4 is double-decked Shinkansen, following E1. A trainset consists of 8 cars, and they are coudpled with other E4 trainset, or with E3 'Tsubasa' and 'Komachi' express. Since their max. speed is 240 km/h, they are going to move from Tohoku Shinkansen to Joetsu shinkansen.
