E2系はJR東日本の新幹線の主力車両です。最高速度は275 km/hで、東北新幹線の「はやて」「やまびこ」に使われています。1997年から製造された初期グループは小さな窓とGTOインバータを持ち、2001年から製造されたグループは大きな窓とIGBTインバータを持ちます。
EMU Series E2 is the main force in Shinkansen of JR East Line. Max. speed is 275 km/h, used in 'Hayate' and 'Yamabiko' in Tohoku Shinkansen. While the first group, built since 1997, has smaller window and GTO inverter, the group build since 2001 has larger window and IGBT inverter.
