All Nagoya Metro rolling stock was designed by Nippon Sharyo. Only Series 5000 has an aluminum body; the other types use stainless-steel bodies. Trains on the Higashiyama, Meijo, and Meiko lines have 16 m cars, while those on the Tsurumai, Sakura-dori, and Kami-iida lines have larger 20 m cars.
