The Tatra T6B5 is a high-floor, four-axle tram developed by ČKD in Czechoslovakia, with prototypes appearing in 1983 and series production beginning in 1985. It has a wide, angular body and thyristor traction control, and multiple cars can be coupled and driven from a single cab. The Riga cars were distinctive in collecting power through trolley poles rather than conventional pantographs, and served the city's tram network.
