Class 811 is the first regional trainsets of JR Kyushu. Since it is dewsigned for Fukuoka city commuter traffic, it does not support DC power supply (used in Honshu). Although its front-end design was unique when it appeared, the series is now rather unimposing compared to Series 813 and 817.
