京阪9000系は1997年に登場し、朝ラッシュの特急と一般列車の両方に対応する車両として製造されました。7200系を基にしたアルミ製3扉車で、登場時はセミクロスシートと独自の帯色を備えていました。後にはロングシート化され、一般の通勤輸送を担う系列となりました。
Keihan Series 9000 was introduced in 1997 to handle both peak-hour limited expresses and ordinary services. Based on Series 7200, its aluminium three-door cars originally had mixed transverse and longitudinal seating and a distinctive band colour. Later conversion to longitudinal seating made it a conventional commuter fleet.
