この京阪1000系は1977～1978年に登場した3代目で、1967～1970年製の700系の車体を再利用しています。1,500 V昇圧に備えて走行機器を更新し、冷房と回生ブレーキを備えた7両編成となりました。京阪本線の通勤輸送に使われ、後には前面や内装も更新されました。
This third-generation Keihan Series 1000 appeared in 1977–1978, reusing bodies from Series 700 cars built in 1967–1970. New running equipment prepared them for the 1,500 V voltage increase, with air conditioning and regenerative braking in seven-car formations. They worked Main Line commuter services and later received further front-end and interior refurbishment.
