京阪2200系は1964年に登場した3扉通勤電車です。丸みのある「卵形」の鋼製車体を持ち、急行・準急にも使える性能と経済性を重視して設計されました。京阪本線の列車に長く使われ、冷房化や制御機器・前面表示の更新を受けた車両もあります。
Keihan Series 2200 was introduced in 1964 as a three-door commuter train. Its rounded steel body belonged to Keihan's egg-shaped family, with performance and economy suited to express and semi-express services. It had a long career on the Main Line, with cars later receiving air conditioning and updates to control equipment and front displays.
