京阪7200系は1995年に登場し、7000系を基に丸みのある前面と内装の改良を採用した本線用通勤車です。10000系は2002年に営業運転を始め、7200系を基に床面を下げた4両編成で宇治線・交野線に投入されました。両系列ともアルミ車体とVVVF制御を持ち、本線用と支線用という用途の違いが見られます。
Keihan Series 7200 was introduced in 1995 as a Main Line commuter design, developing Series 7000 with a rounded front and revised interior. Series 10000 entered service in 2002, using a Series 7200-derived body with a lower floor in four-car sets for the Uji and Katano Lines. Both used aluminium bodies and VVVF control, illustrating the different needs of main-line and branch services.
