京阪2600系は1978年に登場し、0番台は1959年登場の2000系の車体や台車などを流用して製造されました。一方、30番台は車体も新製したグループで、同じ系列でも成立経緯が異なります。冷房と昇圧対応機器を備え、本線や支線で編成を組み替えながら使われました。
Keihan Series 2600 was introduced in 1978, with the original subseries reusing bodies, bogies and other parts from Series 2000, introduced in 1959. The 30 subseries instead had newly built bodies, giving the two groups different origins despite their shared designation. Air conditioning and voltage-compatible equipment supported use on main and branch lines in varying formations.
