ヴッパータールのSchwebebahnは、1901年に営業運転を始めた懸垂式モノレールです。鋼製構造物のレールから車両が吊り下がり、ヴッパー川や道路の上を走って、市内の日常の交通を担います。写真の角張ったGTW 72は、2016年から導入されたGeneration 15に置き換えられ、2018年に通常運転を終えました。
Wuppertal's Schwebebahn is a suspended monorail that began passenger operation in 1901. Trains hang from steel-supported rails above the River Wupper and streets, providing everyday urban transport. The angular-bodied GTW 72 trains pictured were replaced by Generation 15 vehicles introduced from 2016; regular operation of the older fleet ended in 2018.
