Sr2はフィンランド国鉄(VR)を代表する電気機関車です。スイス国鉄設計のSB460を元に、フィンランド向けに軌間・耐寒装備などを改良して1996年から投入されました。GTOサイリスタによるインバータ制御で、回生ブレーキを常用し、最高速度は200km/hです。出力は1500kw/hモーターが四軸に装箇されて、一両で6000kw/hです。既に80両以上が在籍していて、旅客・貨物共に多用されています。
Sr2 is a representative electric locomotive of Finnish State Railways (VR). Based on the Swiss State Railways design SB460, it was modified for Finland's track gauge and cold-weather requirements and introduced from 1996. It uses GTO-thyristor inverter control, routinely uses regenerative braking and has a maximum speed of 200 km/h. The original account gives a 1500 kw/h motor on each of four axles and a total of 6000 kw/h per locomotive. More than 80 are already in the fleet and they are extensively used for both passenger and freight trains.
