Dm12 is a VR diesel railcar manufactured in the Czech Republic in 2005. Although its interior shows an emphasis on cost reduction compared with the latest electric train, Sm4, its doors have wheelchair lifts, and comfort and quietness are reasonably good. Until now, the standard on Finnish State Railways' local lines has been two or three coaches hauled by a Dv12, while services with few passengers have also been replaced by buses. Dm12 may increasingly replace these trains, particularly on the outermost sections of the network.
