When the Hanzomon Line was extended to Oshiage in 2003, Series 08 was built as the final new train type introduced by Eidan. The trains were built by Nippon Sharyo, like the later Series 05N. A total of 60 cars were built, running from Chuo-rinkan on the Den-en-toshi Line to the Tobu Isesaki Line.
