6000系は1972年に登場しました。車体は20 mで、それまでの京王の電車より2 m長くなっています。5000系と比べ、平面の前面ガラス・四角い窓・直線的な側面を持つ簡素な車体デザインで、費用を抑えています。合計304両が製造されましたが、2009年までに約半数がすでに引退していました。
Series 6000 appeared in 1972. It has a 20 m body, which is 2 m longer than older Keio trains. Compared with Series 5000, Series 6000 has a simpler body design, with a flat windshield, square windows, and straight sides to reduce costs. A total of 304 cars were built, but about half had already been withdrawn by 2009.
