京王7000系は1984年から、2800系などの古い緑色の電車を置き換えました。後に優等列車に適した長い編成へ組み替えられました。当初はチョッパ制御の直流電動機を備えていましたが、2003年からインバータ制御と近代的な車内への更新が行われました。
From 1984, Keio Series 7000 replaced older green trains such as Series 2800. Later, the series was reformed into longer trainsets suitable for express services. Originally equipped with chopper-controlled DC motors, from 2003 they were renovated with inverter control and a modern interior.
