山手線は東京・上野・池袋・新宿・渋谷・品川などを結ぶ環状運転の通勤路線です。かつて同線を担ったE231系500番台は11両編成で、当初は混雑時の乗降に対応する6扉車を2両連結していました。
The Yamanote Line is a circular commuter service linking Tokyo, Ueno, Ikebukuro, Shinjuku, Shibuya and Shinagawa. Series E231-500 formerly worked the line in eleven-car sets, originally including two six-door cars to handle busy-period boarding.
