ストックホルムとマルメの中央に位置するスウェーデン中部には、Norrköping(ノルショーピン), Linköping (リンショーピン) と中規模の街が続きます。このうちノルショーピンには、小規模ながらトラム(路面電車)があります。中心街はトランジットモールになっていて、歩行者とトラム専用になっています。(より大規模なものはオランダのアムステルダムで見ることが出来ます) 車両は中間に低床部分を持つステップ付きの在来車が主力ですが、超低床の新型車も在籍しています。地方都市のトラムで見所は決して多くはないものの、こぢんまりとした雰囲気には好感が持てました。
In central Sweden, between Stockholm and Malmö, there is a succession of medium-sized towns including Norrköping and Linköping. Norrköping has a small tram system. Its city centre is a transit mall reserved for pedestrians and trams; a larger example can be seen in Amsterdam in the Netherlands. The main vehicles are conventional trams with steps and a low-floor middle section, although new fully low-floor trams are also present. There are not many major attractions in this provincial tram system, but I liked its compact atmosphere.
