X1は、スウェーデン国鉄(SJ)初の本格的な電車です。小さな窓やリブのある鋼鉄製車体から重厚感が感じられます。1967年の登場以来ストックホルムの近郊電車・Pendeltåg(ペンデルトーグ)として用いられていますが、2005年に入りX60の投入により廃車が始まる模様です。
X1 is the oldest train set in SJ (Swedish railway). They are being withdrawn in a few years as the new trains X60 are shipped, but they are seen in Pendeltåg services for time being. X1 was Swedish State Railways' first full-scale electric train. Its small windows and ribbed steel body give it an imposing appearance. Since its introduction in 1967 it has worked Stockholm's suburban Pendeltåg services, but withdrawals seem set to begin in 2005 with the arrival of X60.
