Oslo's SL95 took its designation from the 1995 order and entered service in 1999 after construction by Ansaldo and Firema in Italy. Its three-section, eight-axle design combined a partly low-floor interior with cabs at both ends and doors on both sides, enabling reversal at termini without loops. This suited services towards Rikshospitalet, although weight and curve restrictions limited deployment; the fleet was subsequently replaced by SL18 trams.
