Nagoya Metro Series 3000 was built in 1977 for the opening of the Tsurumai Line. Its 20 m body with a blue belt is made of stainless steel. The body width is 2,740 mm, which is 60 mm narrower than that of typical JR rolling stock. The trains use chopper control and were planned to be withdrawn over the following decade.
