1200系は1991年から特急の一般席車として使われています。各車は片側3扉で、クロスシートを備えています。主に名古屋本線を走り、犬山線・常滑線でも使われます。1800系は2両編成で、ラッシュ時には1200系に連結されます。
Series 1200 has been used as the non-reserved car for limited express services since 1991. The cars have three doors per side with cross seats. They mainly run on the Nagoya Main Line (Honsen), and also on the Inuyama and Tokoname lines. Series 1800 consists of 2 cars and is coupled to Series 1200 during rush hours.
