1000系は1988年から特急に使われています。運転台が客室の下にあるため、乗客が最前部に座ることができます。最高速度は120 km/hです。1000系・1600系・2000系に乗るには、追加の切符である「ミューチケット」が必要です。現在は全ての1000系が1200系と編成を組んでいます。
Series 1000 is used in limited express since 1988. Since their cab is under the passenger room, passengers can sit forefront. The maximum speed is 120 km/h. An extra ticket (called mu ticket) is required for taking series 1000, 1600 and 2000. Now all the series 1000 form a trainset with series 1200.
