Series 1000 is used in limited express since 1988. Since their cab is under the passenger room, passengers can sit forefront. The maximum speed is 120 km/h. An extra ticket (called mu ticket) is required for taking series 1000, 1600 and 2000. Now all the series 1000 form a trainset with series 1200.
