京都市営地下鉄東西線は1997年に開業し、御陵で京阪京津線と接続して直通運転を行います。開業用50系は1997年から製造された小型の6両編成で、烏丸線10系とは車体寸法が異なります。京阪800系の4両編成も走るため、同じ地下鉄で異なる長さの列車が見られます。
Kyoto's Tozai Subway Line opened in 1997, connecting with Keihan's Keishin Line for through running at Misasagi. Series 50, built from 1997 for the opening, uses compact six-car formations with dimensions different from Karasuma Series 10. Four-car Keihan Series 800 trains also use the route, bringing different train lengths to the same subway.
