近鉄5800系は1997年に登場したL/Cカーの量産系列です。4扉のアルミ車体に、ロングシートとクロスシートへ切り替えられるデュアルシートを備えます。奈良・京都線系統と大阪・名古屋線系統に投入され、混雑時の収容力と長距離利用時の着席性を両立させました。
Kintetsu Series 5800 was introduced in 1997 as the production L/C car design. Four-door aluminium bodies contained dual seats convertible between longitudinal and transverse layouts. Introduced to the Nara/Kyoto and Osaka/Nagoya systems, it balanced peak-hour capacity with seated comfort on longer journeys.
