阪神5001形の2代目は1977年から製造された冷房付きの普通用車で、青とクリームの塗装が特徴です。5131・5331形は1981年から登場し、回生ブレーキ付き電機子チョッパ制御を採用しました。いずれも駅間の短い阪神本線で高加減速を生かす「ジェットカー」として使われました。
The second Hanshin Series 5001 was built from 1977 as an air-conditioned local-service design in blue and cream. Series 5131 and 5331 followed from 1981, adopting armature-chopper control with regenerative braking. All were Jet Cars, using high acceleration and braking performance on the closely spaced stations of the Hanshin Main Line.
