ER形はコペンハーゲン周辺でよく見られます。IC3をもとに、短距離輸送向けに車内配置を変更しています。IC3よりドアが多く、座席は簡素で、編成は4両と長く、自転車用のスペースもあります。主に短距離の快速列車（IR）に使われます。
Series ER can be often seen around Copenhagen. Based on IC3, its body layout is changed for shorter traffic. It has more doors, simpler seats than IC3, longer trainset (4 cars) and space for bicycles. The series are mainly used in short distance rapid services (IR).
