民営分割されたイギリス国鉄のうち、南東部は当初Connex社が引き受けました。しかしConnex社は運営に失敗し、2年間のSRA (Strategic Rail Authority)という公的機関の管理に置かれた後、2006年からSoutheastern Railwaysとして再出発しました。路線内にはロンドン最古の鉄道駅(1836年開業)のLondon Bridgeがあり、ここから都心部のCannon Street/Charling Crossにも乗り入れます。ロンドン近郊を走る車両は新しいものが多く、また白と黄色と黒の塗装・紺色のロゴも美しいです。車両は第三軌条式の電車が用いられています。
Southeastern is a British train operating company serving south-east London and Kent. Originally operated by Connex, it was placed under SRA (Strategic Rail Authority) management after Connex lost the franchise, and restarted as Southeastern Railways in 2006. Routes pass through London Bridge station, one of London's oldest termini opened in 1836, continuing to Cannon Street and Charing Cross.
