東横線の渋谷駅は、かつて地上のターミナルとしてJR線と並んでいました。2013年3月16日に地下ホームへ移り、副都心線との直通運転を開始しました。駅周辺の高架区間を含め、移転によって街と鉄道の関係が大きく変化した場所です。
The Toyoko Line's Shibuya terminal once stood above ground alongside the JR tracks. On 16 March 2013, services moved to underground platforms and began running through the Fukutoshin Line. The relocation changed the relationship between the railway and the surrounding city, including the former elevated approach.
