新京成8800形の赤茶色の帯は、2006年の京成千葉線直通開始に合わせて採用された塗装です。直通用に一部の8両編成を6両へ組み替え、従来の茶色の帯からN800形に似た外観へ変更しました。
The maroon-striped livery of Shin-Keisei Series 8800 was introduced with Keisei Chiba Line through services in 2006. Some eight-car trains were reformed into six-car sets for through running, replacing the earlier brown stripes with a scheme resembling Series N800.
