西武101系は二つのグループに分かれます。1979年から製造された後期グループは、黒い前面デザインを持ちます。主に池袋線と秩父線で使用され、一部は後にほかの路線へ転用されました。多摩川線と多摩湖線で使用する車両を除き、大半は2012年までに引退する予定でした。
Seibu Series 101 is divided into two groups. The newer group, built from 1979, has a black front design. These trains mainly served the Ikebukuro and Chichibu lines, with some later transferred to other lines. Most trains were scheduled to be withdrawn by 2012, except for those used on the Tamagawa and Tamako lines.
