Seibu Series 101 is divided into two groups. The newer group, built from 1979, has a black front design. These trains mainly served the Ikebukuro and Chichibu lines, with some later transferred to other lines. Most trains were scheduled to be withdrawn by 2012, except for those used on the Tamagawa and Tamako lines.
