E259系は2009年に成田エクスプレスで営業運転を始めた空港アクセス用の特急車です。6両編成同士を連結して12両で運転できる前面貫通設備を備え、主要機器の二重化や先頭車のアクティブサスペンションで信頼性と乗り心地を高めています。
JR East Series E259 entered Narita Express service in 2009 as a limited express train for airport access. Front gangway connections allow two six-car sets to form a twelve-car train, while duplicated main equipment and active suspension on the end cars improve reliability and ride comfort.
