The Dutch Railway Museum in Utrecht welcomes visitors through Maliebaan Station, built in 1874 and restored with its class-separated waiting rooms and dining facilities. Historic railway vehicles, including steam locomotives, place the development of rail travel alongside the station's preserved passenger surroundings. The museum also explains train engineering through Techlab experiments on electrical circuits, wheel resistance and air brakes, combining vehicle preservation with practical demonstrations of how railway equipment works.
