IRM は二階建てのIC用車両です。3,4,6両固定編成を組み、適宜併結されます。固定窓・冷房付きで、DDMに比べ機械室が小さくなっています。アムステルダムを発着するオランダ国内ICの主力として活躍しています。なお、オランダ国内の優等列車は、一部例外を除いて特別料金不要です。
IRM are series of new comfortable rolling stocks for InterCity. It has a double-deck body and air conditioning system. These double-deck IC trains form fixed sets of three, four or six cars and are coupled together as required. They have fixed windows and air conditioning, and their equipment compartments are smaller than those of DDM. They are the mainstay of domestic IC trains arriving at and departing from Amsterdam. With some exceptions, premium trains within the Netherlands do not require an additional fare.
