2200系は2000系に似ていますが、車体傾斜機構はありません。片側3扉の一般席車を含みます。名古屋本線・犬山線・常滑線・西尾線の特急に使われています。1編成は6両で、3100系や3150系を連結することもあります。
Series 2200 is similar to Series 2000 but lacks a tilting mechanism. It includes non-reserved cars with three doors per side. The trains are used in limited express services on the Nagoya Main, Inuyama, Tokoname, and Nishio lines. A trainset consists of 6 cars, sometimes coupled with Series 3100 or 3150.
