Class 813 is designed for Fukuoka area. The front shape is simpler than series 811, but the design is more appearing because of its vivid red outfit. More than 200 cars are manufactured in 15 years, and now they are the main force in Kagoshima line in Fukuoka area.813系は、福岡都市圏用に1994年から製造されている近郊形電車です。車体はステンレス製で、VVVFインバータ制御・最高速度は120km/hです。正面形状は切妻になったものの、色遣いは赤が主体になり目立ちます。また、車内も特徴のあるインテリアとなりました。10年以上に亘って断続的に増備され、200両を超えるグループに成長しました。
