On Kobe Electric Railway, the Type 310 with a front gangway door followed Type 300, built as the railway's first high-performance trains. Many Series 1000 cars were built with Type 310 as their basic style, forming the foundation of the railway's fleet. Series 1000, 1100 and 1300 were built with two doors per side, while Series 1150 and 1350 had three. Single Type 1070 cars were also built for adding to formations. Series 1500 was subsequently built in 1991 as a reserve trainset for the Park Town Line. Types originally differed according to whether they formed two- or three-car trains, but most formations now have four cars. From the late 1990s to the early 2000s, they withdrew from the Arima and Sanda Lines and mainly worked the Ao Line and shorter workings. Recently, however, four-car trains have become able to run through to Ao, so these cars can again be seen frequently on the Arima Line. Most photographs were taken near Kikusuiyama, where service was suspended in 2005.
