大阪市営地下鉄22系は1990年から製造された谷町線用の新20系です。ステンレス車体に紫の帯を配した6両編成で、VVVF制御と冷房を備えます。30系などの置換えを進め、都島・東梅田・天王寺を経由する谷町線の輸送を担いました。
Osaka Municipal Subway Series 22 was built from 1990 as the Tanimachi Line member of the new Series 20 family. Six-car stainless-steel formations carried purple bands and used VVVF control with air conditioning. They replaced older designs such as Series 30 on the route through Miyakojima, Higashi-Umeda and Tennoji.
