阪急5000系は1968年から製造された神戸線用の電車で、同線の昇圧後に登場した1,500 V専用車です。鋼製車体と抵抗制御を採用し、神戸高速・山陽電鉄への直通にも使われました。後年の更新や編成短縮を経て、今津北線の運用にも移っています。
Hankyu Series 5000 was built from 1968 for the Kobe Line as a dedicated 1,500 V design following the voltage increase. It used steel bodies and resistance control and also operated through the Kobe Kosoku network onto Sanyo Railway. Later refurbishment and shortening of trainsets enabled use on the northern Imazu Line.
