2300系は、冷房化・界磁チョッパ制御への改造が行われたほか、一部には方向幕の設置が行われました。方向幕車は7両編成を組み、本線の普通・快速、千里線(梅千系統) で運用されました。2001 年のダイヤ改正以降は、急行運用が復活しました。嵐山線には 2005年に入線しましたが、2009年に6300系に置き換えられました。
Hankyu Series 2300 received air conditioning and conversion to field-chopper control, and some cars were also fitted with destination blinds. The cars with blinds formed seven-car trainsets used on main-line local and rapid services and on Senri Line services between Umeda and Kita-senri. Following the 2001 timetable revision, express duties resumed. They entered the Arashiyama Line in 2005, but were replaced by Series 6300 in 2009.
