485系は直流と50・60 Hzの交流電化区間を走れる、国鉄の特急形電車です。北陸方面の「雷鳥」などに使われ、ボンネット形や高運転台など製造時期による前面の違いもありました。
JNR Series 485 was a limited express train able to run under DC and both 50 Hz and 60 Hz AC electrification. It served Hokuriku expresses such as Raicho, with bonnet-style or raised-cab fronts depending on the production period.
