Series 5000 are build for Higashiyama Line in 1983, as the first air-conditioned units in the line. It has aluminum body with 3 doors, 6 cars compose one trainset. The yellow band shows the color for Higashiyama line. Now this series is being withdrawn, for its aged body and electric equipment.5000系は、東山線初の冷房車として1983年に登場しました。15m・3扉のアルミ車体に黄色い帯を持ちます。小さな車体限界のため、薄型の冷房装置を持ちます。網棚がドア付近にしかなく、車内に鏡があるのは100形から引き継いだ特長です。車体や電機子チョッパ制御装置の老朽化のため、引退が始まっています。
