Keihin-Tohoku line is the oldest line which pass through the center of Tokyo. It originates with Keihin line (Tokyo-Yokohama) and Tohoku line, but now the line is operated completely as one line. From Tabata to Shinagawa, Yamanote Line runs with it. Only series 209-0 are in service from 1998 to 2007, but new series E233 will take after them. Series 209 is well known for its cheap price and advanced design policy.京浜東北線は、最も古くからある東京都心を貫通する近郊電車です。元々は東京と横浜(桜木町)を結ぶ京浜線が北に延長され、東北線の電車線として直通するようになりました。途中田端〜品川間では山手線と併走します。車両は現在209系0番台が用いられていますが、2007年からは代替車のE233系が投入される予定です。
